BRAVO Rosa Parks

BRAVO Rosa Parks - A Program of BRAVO Youth OrchestrasBRAVO’s first project is a tuition-free orchestral music program for nearly 200 students at Rosa Parks School in North Portland, one of the district’s priority schools.

The project components include:

  • School day violin instruction for thirty minutes twice a week for all students in K-1 (approx. 135)
  • Daily after school string orchestra and chorus for 60 students in grades 2-5 (10 hours/week)
  • Regular performance opportunities in the school, in the surrounding neighborhood and in the wider Portland metro area

Students at Rosa Parks School:

  • 95% qualify for free or reduced lunch
  • 18 languages spoken
  • Families from around the world
