The Oregon Symphony Orchestra and BRAVO Youth Orchestras will host a FREE community event featuring internationally acclaimed saxophonist Steven Banks.
The night will open with our BRAVO Ambassadors performing a fun and engaging repertoire, setting the tone for an evening of reflection, connection, and extraordinary music. Following their performance, Steven Banks will introduce and discuss Diaspora, a powerful concerto for saxophone and orchestra composed by Billy Childs that reflects on the forced Black American diaspora, shaped through his own lived experience as a Black man in America.
